Mari Kawamoto Gallery of the Reader Collection of Japanese Flower-and-Bird Art

Plants and animals are the main subjects of Mari’s art. This gallery shows twenty-five of her flower and (or) bird paintings. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Mari typically draws the shapes of her subjects accurately but she is sometimes creative when coloring them. She also gives them indistinct edges to give the picture a sense of depth and make it appear three dimensional.
